GOP Debate Gives Jeb Bush Campaign New Hope for Republican Nomination

Carson didn’t even answer the question; instead, he took the chance to launch into a predicable rant – OK, calling anything that comes out of Dr. Carson’s mouth a “rant” might be a stretch – about the media and Hillary Clinton. Not even Bush, who Trump has frequently blasted as a “low energy candidate”.

“I thought it was great”. Fellow GOP nominees Kasich and Trump went after each other on how to approach dealing with illegal immigration.

He says, “I am interested in people being able to enter the job market”. “I don’t have to hear from this man, believe me”, Trump responded.

Kasich was not the only one fed up with Trump’s outrageous claims. He quipped, “I’d let him operate on a friend of mine – not necessarily me, but a friend of mine”, before conceding that he would let him run one of his companies.

This was supposed to be a debate that showed whether retired neurosurgeon Ben Carson could survive his questionable statements about his background (He did). Two of the most notably juxtaposed comments were from Donald Trump and Governor John Kasich.

“You’re going to make people more expensive than a machine”, Rubio said.

After a debate, the question is asked: “Who won the debate?”

An upbeat Bush, also in Iowa, said he was pleased with his debate appearance as he made his way through a crowded corner of a Hy Vee grocery store in Johnston, pouring coffee at the store’s annual Veterans Day breakfast. It is uncertain whether his performance was sufficient to keep him going.

Aided by tentative questioning, the GOP’s top presidential candidates executed their strategies with little resistance in Tuesday night’s prime-time debate.
