Former South Korean President Kim Young Sam Passes Away
The government on Sunday expressed its deep condolences over the death of Kim Young-sam, a former Korean president who had been a great friend of the Republic of China (ROC). He stated Kim is believed to have suffered from a extreme blood infection & acute heart failure before he died.
Kim was taken to the hospital on Thursday due to a high fever, Oh said. In recent years, Kim had been treated at the hospital for stroke, angina and pneumonia, Oh added.
Kim was a major player in South Korea’s rise to democracy. He served as president from 1993 to 1998.
