Bears’ Alshon Jeffery misses practice with groin injury
Jeffery will be good to go despite nursing a groin injury.
As the Chicago Bears prepare to play the St. Louis Rams on Sunday, news is trickling out regarding the status of wide receiver Alshon Jeffery and running back Matt Forte. Four days after the season opener, he suffered a hamstring injury that kept him out of the next four games.
Injuries continue to strike the Bears and receiver Alshon Jeffery.
Said quarterback Jay Cutler: “If he can’t go, we’ve had life without him and we’ll figure it out with the guys we’ve got”.
When the St. Louis Rams walked off the field last Sunday overtime losers to the Minnesota Vikings, it was in part due to St. Louis having to play without several injured starters.
If Langford has as productive of a game as he did last week versus the Chargers (72 yards rushing and 70 yards receiving with 1 touchdown), there will be major questions revolving around the future of Matt Forte, who is set to be a free agent after this season.
“[I hurt my groin] just going real hard in practice, I guess”, Jeffery said. A few have gone as far as to call Jeffery the “Derrick Rose of the NFL” while Bears’ head coach John Fox may be growing irritated with the idea that his primary wide receiver struggles to stay on the field. I’m like “No kidding”. Forte missed Monday’s game in San Diego with a knee injury.
“No. We’re in a very physical, combative game”, Fox said. Quinn, a 6-foot-4, 264-pounder, is expected to return from his knee injury this week, where he’ll bring his 50 career sacks against Leno, Cutler’s blind-side protector. “Obviously it didn’t go in the first half quite like we wanted. You look at the past week and right now we’re looking at the Rams, so it’s a week-to-week thing”. “But we’ve got a lot of guys that step up when he’s not in”.
The Rams will win if…: Their pass rush does what no group has done this year, and that’s harass Cutler to the point of putting him on the turf often.
