Millsaps College says senior wins Rhodes scholarship

“I am thrilled to be named as a 2016 Rhodes Scholar”, Mediate said. Recipients are selected on the basis of high academic achievement, personal integrity, leadership potential and a commitment to service, among other attributes.
He told The Associated Press that he was “pretty honored”, adding that the scholarship “was always something that I thought would be worth a shot, not ever thinking it would actually happen”.
