GOP’s Carson says he has capacity to learn foreign policy
The Council on American-Islamic relations condemned Carson’s dog comparisons at the same time it blasted another GOP hopeful, Donald Trump, for declining to rule out setting up a USA government database and special identification cards for Muslims in America. “One of the hallmarks of America is that we treat everybody the same”.
“I want us to be able to know who they are; I want us to know where they came from; I want us to know where they’re going and why they’re here”, Carson clarified, despite reporters’ insistence that the current screening system already requires this information.
Carson is near or at the top of most polls, but he rarely campaigns in New Hampshire.
“If we don’t have a database on every foreigner who comes to this country, we are being negligent”, he added.
Ben Carson strolled through the state house in Concord with a crowd of cheering supporters Friday, becoming the last major presidential candidate to officially file for the first-in-the-nation New Hampshire primary. “You can’t come into this country until I see you eat bacon while singing ‘A Christmas Carol'”. But that would go for any other institution that favors terrorism, he said. Following last week’s “The Adventures of Young Ben Carson” sketch, we were treated to a present-day Carson, who swore he was all “fired up” about the Syrian refugee issue. “There are people who are radical jihadists and they want to destroy us, and we don’t want to expose our people to them, even though we may love all the other people from Syria”. The chief critic, former Central Intelligence Agency agent Duane Clarridge, told The NY Times that Carson struggles with Middle Eastern affairs.
Before Carson filed, infamous Vermin Supreme of Rockport, Mass., filed to run in the Democratic Primary, yelling he needed help because he was surrounded by media.
“Yes, we should have in place protocols to deal with that 2 a.m. call in the morning, but we also need to have the ability to think quickly and to be flexible”, Carson said, noting that he likely has more early morning calls than anyone else running for president, and greater experience making life or death decisions.
