Is Carson fading in Iowa?
Trump, a billionaire real estate developer, leads in most national polls, with Carson, a retired neurosurgeon, close behind. Marco Rubio of Florida at 11 percent, Sen.
Princeton University professor and polling expert Sam Wang told Business Insider late last month that the fact that many of Carson’s supporters were not fully committed to voting for him suggested that Trump’s support may be more solid than Carson’s. They worry about unilateral acts by the mercurial Trump: deporting 11 million immigrants, seizing the oil fields in Iraq or starting a trade war with China.
Mr Trump has also voiced support for closing certain mosques as a way to contain the terrorist threat in the US. Another 21 percent refused to support Bush, the poll found. Cruz also has a conglomerate of well-funded super PACs that will be able to make the case for him (and against his opponents) between now and March. Almost two-thirds of Jeb Bush’s less-than-eight-percent support dissipated. Trump was asked by an NBC News reporter about the prospect of a database and whether Muslims would be required to be registered. Only 20 percent of the Republican thinks that Carson has that quality. That’s a reversal from an August Bloomberg poll in which just 34 percent said they could back him and 43 percent said they never would.
New Jersey Governor Chris Christie said visitors to the United States should be monitored the same way shipping companies like Federal Express track packages.
Donald Trump is in cruise control in New Hampshire, doubling the poll numbers of his nearest challenger, unless that is, Mitt Romney gets in the race.

The Fox News Poll is conducted under the joint direction of Anderson Robbins Research (D) and Shaw & Company Research (R). “But Iowa is especially important to the Carson campaign because of the large number of evangelical Christians who vote, 42 percent of Republican caucus goers in 2012”. And Ted Cruz has made gains among all these groups in the last month. But among those who do say the attacks matter “a lot”, Trump has an especially large lead over Carson – and the rest of the field. Carson stayed in second place with 22 percent.
Asked whether Muslims would have to register at mosques, Trump said: “Different places”.
Four Republican candidates come out ahead of the presumptive Democratic nominee: Rubio is ahead by 7 points (47-40 percent), Bush (45-42 percent) and Kasich (43-40 percent) are up by 3 points each, and Carson has a 2-point edge (45-43 percent).
U.S. vice president Joe Biden, who gave the White House’s weekly internet and radio address while Obama was in Asia, said IS wants to “manufacture a clash between civilisations” and to turn away refugees – mostly women, children, orphans, torture survivors – and “say “there is no way you can ever get here” would play right into the terrorists’ hands”.
In the Republican primary race, the newest NBC News/SurveyMonkey online poll shows Donald Trump has the frontrunner spot to himself, with 28% support among Republican and independent voters who lean Republican.
