Syco Music Denies Dropping Zayn Malik From Label
Well, not yet anyway.
It was on Cowell’s label, Syco, distributed by the multi-national Sony Music, that One Direction had been launched and it was assumed Malik would operate from the same base after he quit the teen favourites known as 1D in March.
But Simon has dropped the 23-year-old heartthrob from his record label, Syco, out of loyalty to the One Direction lads.
Zayn Malik, formerly of One Direction.
But all is not lost – and Zayn will still stay in the Sony stable.
He’ll allegedly be kept with Syco until everything is finalised. He’s already changed management from the company Modest that the other boys use.
A source explained: “It’s a big move for Simon because Zayn could have a very successful solo career, but his priority absolutely remains the band and this is a big statement on his part”.
A Syco representative, who shared the same information to Digital Spy, has spoken to Entertainment Weekly about the rumors and said that “Zayn is still with Syco”, according to The Inquisitr.
People probably spread more false rumors about Zayn Malik now than they ever did when he was still in One Direction.
Rapper Mic Righteous has said that the 22-year-old has been banned from releasing any solo music for two years after his exit.
Zayn Malik’s week doesn’t seem to be getting any better following his public spat with pal Naughty Boy.
The former One Direction star is thought to have been released from SYCO ahead of debuting any solo material.
Where do you see Zayn Malik’s career headed?
