Patriots escape with a win

The Patriots are a thorn in the side of Bills’ head coach Rex Ryan, back to his days as the Jets head coach. As Ryan said, injuries are a part of football.

“They’re going to win the division”.

Seriously. I know you’ve all heard plenty about the annual Waltz of the Tomato Cans, but has it ever been easier than this?

Ryan’s conceding the division already? Of course that wasn’t his point at all.

“I’m just telling you the facts”, he said.

“I want what they have”. But I don’t know why you even bother. “The opportunities that I get, I’m just trying to make the a lot of them”. However, the Patriots are 13-1 straight up over their last 14 home games against Buffalo. The Pats will be without Julian Edelman, who is out for the rest of the regular season with a foot injury. On obvious rushing plays, where the opposing team is at either goal line, a third linebacker will come on and that’s been a point of contention. “I won’t take nothing back from it”, McKelvin said, recalling Buffalo’s 2009 season-opening 25-24 loss. So you guys should talk to somebody else who’s got a better record than I do against them.

Ryan continued to get snippy during his answers. “So with that being said, I’m going to say he’s not very good”.

“I thought we had it. I’m thinking, ‘New era”. One hundred percent I say we have the talent to play better than that. We better play better than that, we better coach better than that. I still see Brady having a big game at home and giving the crowd everything they want. The last time the Bills and Patriots met was in Buffalo this year where the Patriots won more convincingly than their score would show, 40-32. The good news is, Shady has rushed for exactly 112 yards in each of the last two games, and last week against the NY Jets he chipped in 47 yards in the receiving game as well.

There is always a danger in falling for the Bills because they have a legacy of failure that is hard to forget.But Wilson is gone and his chief money generator, Russ Brandon, has assumed a lower football profile, and to me those are positive developments for the team now owned by fracking kingpin Terry Pegula.

On offense, the Bills have to be able to unleash LeSean McCoy and Karlos Williams against a run defense that is ranked second in the league mainly because it has faced the second-fewest rushes in the league (198) as most teams usually trailing the Patriots and have to pass. Additionally, the Patriots will return Sebastian Vollmer to the line, which will give Tom Brady more time in the pocket to pick apart the Bills defense.

The Patriots are still dominate and still haven’t lost a game headed into Week 11.

The Bills, however, have dropped 27 of their last 30 meetings with the Patriots.

Despite being slowed by a bum hamstring, McCoy, who has also dealt with shoulder woes, gained 89 yards and averaged 5.9 yards a carry against the Patriots in Week 2. Danny Amendola is expected to replace Edelman in the slot for Tom Brady. The Dolphins managed just 210 yards of total offense and slipped to 4-6 on the season while the Cowboys ended a seven-game losing streak. Julian Edelman might be back in time for the playoffs, assuming everything with his surgery and recovery goes according to plan.
