Adele’s ’25’ Album Not Available for Streaming
Adele is about to change the phase of online streaming after reports reveal that the singer will not be releasing her highly anticipated album “25” for music streaming services like Apple Music and Spotify.
Spotify is trying to lure Adele in by saying that her 2.5 million fans would love to hear her new album on the streaming site.
“We hope that she will give those fans the opportunity to enjoy 25 on Spotify alongside 19 and 21 very soon”.
Adele’s brand new album “25” is available to purchase right now.
Apple finally come around and managed to assuage Ms. Swift’s concerns; it was only after this that “1989” and other Taylor Swift albums were made available on Apple’s music streaming service.
Adele’s 25 is poised to be one of the biggest hit albums the music world has seen in years.
Hello was her first single since Skyfall, which won Best Original Song for the theme tune to the James Bond film.
Adele has had almost five years to savour the massive success of her last album but, on a release that could be even bigger, she is looking back wistfully on what once had been.
The British singer’s decision seems to follow Taylor Swift’s decision, who pulled out her catalog from Spotify a year ago as she thought her music was being disvalued by providing it for free.
“This is a minor issue for Adele, but a major issue for the streaming services”, digital media analyst with Midia Research Mark Mulligan said.
Ironically, Adele’s 25 album has benefited from streaming.
Tyler Goldman, North America chief executive of music streaming company Deezer, likewise said the service would not offer “25” at present. Her recent release is expected to break records in the music industry according to Washington Post.
It’s the latest skirmish in the continuing struggle between artists and streaming services. The NY Times first reported the move.
Spotify is considered to be the largest streaming service that provides on-demand music services to its users.
The special – presented by Graham Norton – is Adele’s first televised performance since she sang at the Academy Awards in 2013. “Hello” is Adele’s most well-received single since “Someone Like You” from her album 21.
Nearly immediately Apple reversed its position and Swift agreed to allow Apple Music to stream the album.
