NY Jets slump to second straight loss against Houston Texans
He wasn’t the top pas catcher as DeAndre Hopkins brought in five catches for 118 yards and two touchdowns.
Coach Todd Bowles wasn’t happy with Fitzpatrick’s performance on Sunday, but said his job wasn’t in jeopardy. “I’m not going to take it out here; we’ll discuss it in-house”. Hopkins burned Revis, who left the game in the second half with a concussion and did not return, down the sideline in the first quarter but Yates’ pass was badly overthrown.
NY Jets center Nick Mangold has left Sunday’s game against the Texans with a hand injury, and his return was questionable.
Fitzpatrick, the Jets’ quarterback who is already playing with a thumb injury, had his helmet knocked off by a hit from Texans safety Eddie Pleasant just before he crossed the goal line. To reach the playoffs for the first time since the 2010 season, the Jets will probably have to win at least four of their last six games against a slate of tough opponents, which includes the Giants, Patriots, Bills and the finally healthy Cowboys. On the ground, Chris Ivory rushed for 99 yards in 18 attempts. Yates tossed two of them in the game.
“He’s one of a kind, I would say”, Jets tackle Breno Giacomini said. In the receiving end, Deandre Hopkins had 57 yards and one touchdown in five catches.
I would go with the trick play that resulted in Cecil Shorts’ 21 yard touchdown pass to Alfred Blue. So, three times Houston threw the ball to their All-Pro defender in 2014. After the 24-17 victory came to an end, Hopkins he was “ready to play” in a matchup that offered him a chance to show off the extent of his skills.
I think not – on that play alone, Nuk commandeered that territory, re-staked the claim and dedicated asg Nuk territory.
The Jets aren’t a very good team, as they proved yet again in Sunday’s 24-17 loss at Houston. Smart guy, jumps in there takes a few reps, took a couple reps today, and I like him in the meeting room, attentive, working hard to try to learn it here in the last couple of days.
The game was tied in the third quarter when the TD pass by Shorts made it 17-10. The Patriots chose to take that big play ability from the Jets and Ryan Fitzpatrick, double teaming Marshall whenever possible, holding him to only 4 receptions and 67 yards without touchdowns.
Of the three teams with non-losing records and a negative point differential, two reside in the AFC South: the Texans and Colts.
Will the Jets be able to get back in the win column or is it the Texans who will be left celebrating a win come Sunday?
“Not getting it done” is an understatement, the bare essentials of the game of football is hurting the Jets and that is concerning for the longevity of their season.
