Florida State upends OH, takes 4th place in Paradise Jam
The Pride bombed in 18 3-point attempts in the first 20 minutes, hitting on eight. Bacon paced the Seminoles (4-1) with 25 points and seven rebounds, while Beasley added 22 points on 8-of-10 shooting, including 2 of 3 from beyond the arc.
Worldwide players and a freshman carried South Carolina’s unconventional roster to a 94-84 victory against Hofstra in Sunday night’s late semifinal game at the Paradise Jam. The Golden Hurricane are led by former SEC coach Frank Haith (Missouri) and top assistant Dennis Felton (Georgia).
Following the Norfolk State game, the Blue Demons are off until December 2 when they take the short trip to UIC for a 7 p.m. game at the UIC Pavilion.

And Clove Lakes resident Brian Bernardi, one of the best three-point shooters in the country, is off a fast one at Hofstra.
South Carolina’s offense was able to keep pace, shooting 54.4 percent from the field and 55.6 percent three-point range. The Pride are coming off an 82-77 win against Florida State on Friday.
Hofstra failed to score over the next four minutes, a period where the Gamecocks scored twelve points, spacing their lead to 86-72 with less than four minutes left. He hit six 3s in the contest, with five of those in the first half. Juan’ya Green (16.7), Ameen Tanksley (14.3), Denton Koon (13.3) and Rokas Gustys (11.0) all contribute double-figures as well. Gustys leads the squad and ranks among national leaders with 12.3 rebounds per outing and Green dishes 8.7 assists per game against just nine turnovers. Tulsa and SC were scheduled to meet for the Paradise Jam title game later Monday.
Kacinas had 18 points and countryman Chatakevicius had 17 points, as did Carrera in the win.
With the offense sputtering at times, Green took the reins in scoring for the remainder of the period, nailing three three-pointers the remainder of the half, supplemented by his protégé, Desure Buie, grabbing one deep ball of his own.
SC and Hofstra will be facing off for their first head-to-head game in recent seasons.
The Florida State Seminoles and DePaul Blue Demons face off Saturday afternoon at the Sports and Fitness Center.
