OU quarterback Baker Mayfield recovering from concussion, status for Bedlam

Oklahoma State will need Clemson, Alabama, Iowa, Notre Dame, and possibly MI State to lose for any traction in the CFP rankings. On Sunday, Oklahoma didn’t provide an official update on Mayfield’s health or status for the upcoming Bedlam game, but did announce the junior is tentatively scheduled to meet with the media for his regular interview session on Monday.

Offensive coordinator Lincoln Riley said he changed the offensive gameplan when Mayfield was out and that’s what stunted the offense.

It is also worth noting, though, that Knight is a very different type of quarterback than Mayfield.

“There’s certainly room for optimism, but we do have a protocol we have to go through — a few serial testing and progressions of activity, and we’re in the midst of that now”, Anderson said.

Johnson started the season at receiver but was moved back to quarterback in late October after Seth Russell’s neck injury.

He said he also had a concussion in high school five years ago, but “I had all the symptoms then, dizzy and all the vision stuff, but this one wasn’t like that”.
