Joe Flacco Tears ACL, 2015 Season Over
The Ravens have had a highly disappointing season, by far the worst under Harbaugh, but the Flacco injury should positively skew Baltimore’s final record.
“I’m confident that (the spotter) saw it and our trainer went on the field”, Fisher said. “For this season, if Flacco should be forced to miss time for any reason, the Ravens will turn to veteran Matt Schaub”. The whole stadium knew Keenum was injured – Foles even got ready to take the field. Despite the struggles, Rams coach Jeff Fisher said he never considered pulling Keenum. The switch did not pay immediate dividends.
Baltimore Ravens quarterback Joe Flacco will miss the remainder of the season after tearing ligaments in his left knee, and teammate Justin Forsett’s season is over after he broke his right arm Sunday. The injuries this weekend leave Baltimore without their starting quarterback, running back, center, wide receivers and top pass rusher. Keenum was evaluated for concussion after game, which could jeopardize his start next week at Cincinnati.
2015 will likely be remembered as a lost year for the Ravens.
They trailed 13-3 before coming back behind Flacco, who went 27 for 44 for 299 yards and a score.
Most famous here in Baltimore for his last second heroics against the New Orleans Saints where Renner ran in the touchdown as time ticked down, giving the Ravens their only win of the preseason. This is the first year that the injury spotter is allowed to intercede and call a medical timeout if he sees a player shaken up on the field. The kick capped a 76-yard drive, highlighted by a 46-yard completion to Crockett Gillmore.
Unfortunately, the season is already over for two of the Ravens’ best players: Veteran quarterback Joe Flacco tore his MCL and ACL at the end of the game and will require season-ending surgery.
When Forsett went down, Allen finished with 67 yards on 22 carries. Baltimore tied a franchise high by recovering four fumbles. Dallas is 3-0 with Romo, 0-7 without him, after the QB connected with Dez Bryant for their team-record 50th scoring pass and threw for another TD, too, in a 24-14 victory at Miami. Travis Benjamin and Gary Barnidge have combined for 1,403 receiving yards and 11 touchdowns while Duke Johnson Jr. has 39 receptions. The Rams were driving as they were at their own 41-yard line, give or take 25 yards away from a potential game-winning field goal.
Baltimore made a variety of mistakes before the break, most notably an interception by Flacco and six penalties totaling 107 yards.
Eight quarterbacks have reported concussions this season, but only 17 of the 108 concussions in Frontline’s database are from interior linemen – the football players who naturally bang heads the most play-to-play.
