Warriors beat Nuggets to match best ever National Basketball Association start
With four wins on the week, Golden State matched the best start to a season in National Basketball Association history at 15-0, joining the 1948-49 Washington Capitols and 1993-94 Houston Rockets as the only teams to start 15-0 and becoming the first defending champion in league history to do so.
Much has been made of Stephen Curry’s preposterous start to the season, and rightly so – Curry is averaging 33.6 points per game, singlehandedly winning a few games in the process – but it wasn’t Curry who won Sunday’s game.
“Now that we’re here and have tied the record, it’s a huge accomplishment”, Curry said.
To recap, the Warriors are now 15-0 after tonight’s win and will be looking to continue that streak against the Lakers. “Since we’ve got 15, we might as well get 16”. The Dubs have a chance to break that record with a victory at home Tuesday night.

Instead, Curry has been a driving force to the success under interim coach Luke Walton.
“It’s a motivational tool for us”, guard Shaun Livingston said. “I’m just glad to not be letting my boss Steve down”. “He comes out 9-of-12, 21 points, eight rebounds”.
The Nuggets wanted to be the team to stop the streak but could not keep up with the reigning champions. “I’ve been a diehard fan for 20 years and I know they’re going to do it”, one fan said.
For the Nuggets, who stumbled to their third consecutive defeat, Darrell Arthur led the way with 21 points. Golden State jumped out to a 34-23 lead at the end of the first quarter. Forward Andre Iguodala and guard Leandro Barbosa hit jumpers to make it a 16-point game.
“I’ve seen stranger things happen”, Bryant said Sunday after his team’s 107-93 loss to the Portland Trail Blazers at Staples Center here. “It’s a hard task (to beat them)”, said Jokic, who finished with a double-double, 11 points and 11 rebounds. They’re doing it with joyous play, and an all-business mentality. With history in tow and the possibility of more looming, there was hardly a celebration to be found in Denver.
“We’ve had a pretty good run with injuries, guys not missing games and touch wood it doesn’t happen, but I’m sure we’ll get to a point where we are resting guys at certain points in the season and they are games that could go either way”.
