National Basketball Association roundup: Warriors match league’s best start at 15-0
Klay Thompson went 4-for-7 from the three-point arc and scored 21, and Stephen Curry placed 19 points on the board, as the undefeated Warriors put forth a team effort sans sensational stat lines.
According to Curry, the Warriors are just getting started.
The Warriors can break the record on Tuesday at Oracle Arena with a win against the Los Angeles Lakers. As long as the Warriors have the Small Ball Death Squad at their disposable, there’s no reason to doubt them.
“I liken it to we’re the Washington Generals playing the Globetrotters”, said Malone, the former Warriors assistant coach. “And all we’re doing is following his leadership”.
Wearable tech is not allowed during National Basketball Association games, but Golden State deploys devices like wireless Global Positioning System and strobe glasses in practice in order to monitor and train players at the highest possible level.
The Warriors have only really been challenged by two teams, the Los Angeles Clippers and the Toronto Raptors, as they’ve gone on their historic run.
“It’s kind of a quiet confidence that we don’t feel like we’re going to lose anytime soon”, Curry said.
November 21 vs. Atlanta: Posted 19 points, 11 rebounds and eight assists during a 109-97 win over the Hawks. Curry is on pace for a record-setting 404 3-pointers and his 490 points through 15 games are the eighth most in the league in the past half-century. The undefeated Warriors buried the Denver Nuggets at altitude and with Stephen Curry sitting out the fourth quarter. Kenneth Faried was sidelined by a sprained left ankle.
“You can be up by 23 [against the Warriors] and it doesn’t matter, especially if they’ve got two quarters left”. Serge Ibaka had 16 points, nine rebounds and a key late blocked shot for Oklahoma City, which was without star forward Kevin Durant (injured hamstring) for the sixth consecutive game…. It’s the reason why previous year we had a 16-game winning streak. Deron Williams topped Dallas (9-5) with 20 points and Wesley Mathews added 18.
Pelicans 122, Suns 116: Anthony Davis capped a 32-point, 19-rebound performance with a tiebreaking three-pointer in the final minute, and host New Orleans beat Phoenix.
“I’m predicting the Laker victory in Golden State to stop their 15-game winning streak and prevent them from breaking the record”, Thompson added.
The Lakers comes into that match-up on the heels of a 107-93 loss to the Trail Blazers.
