Second auto free day in Delhi
People have told us that Nitish has done good work.
The party has launched a poster war against the AAP government criticising Kejriwal for hugging RJD chief Lalu Prasad during the oath-taking ceremony of Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar in Patna.
AAP rebels protested the meeting venue and shouted anti-party slogans.
Kumar, also a top JD(U) leader and Banerjee had spoken over phone after the Bihar assembly elections results were announced. They would say that they (the Congress) are corrupt, but the Lokpal movement should not be supported as it would help the BJP.
Banerjee had also congratulated Kumar over Twitter and termed the victory of the Grand Alliance as “the defeat of intolerance”. Transport Minister Gopal Rai on the occasion said the government was getting warm response from people towards its Car-Free initiatives.
Saying the AAP didn’t believe in “power politics”, he said it was not eyeing the next Lok Sabha battle. We are against that too.
Criticising the AAP leader, Delhi BJP spokesperson Praveen Shankar Kapoor said, “Kejriwal claimed that he is doing a different kind of politics and is honest among all the politicians”.
“We are against his record of corruption and we’ll always oppose it”, Kejriwal asserted.
“I go to Rashtrapati Bhavan. We have been observing the fall in morals and values of the party for a long time and have proofs of wrong-doing and illegal activities being executed by the party”, Shanti Bhushan said.
The Delhi government today held the second “Car-Free Day” in Dwarka – on the road stretch between Sector 3-13 and Sector 7-9, which witnessed a cycle rally led by Kejriwal, and participation of school children, and IAS and DANICS officers.
Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal has come up with a defence for his hugging scam-tainted Lalu Prasad Yadav.
The political drama in Patna had threatened to blur the distinction Kejriwal has sought to draw between Lalu and Nitish, expressing his support for the Bihar chief minister who enjoys a reputation as a untainted politician.
He added that his government had fought corruption by being the only one sack its own Minister, instead of “brushing corruption cases under the carpet”, referring to the public sacking of former minister Asim Ahmed Khan.
