Why Adele’s New Album ’25’ Is Not Streaming Online
According to Billboard, 25 is on track to break the record for number of albums sold in a single week, which is now held by *NSYNC’s No Strings Attached (the album was released in 2000 and sold a little bit more than 2.4 million copies).
It has been the only album to sell two million copies in the U.S.in a single week but Adele is predicted to finish the week of sales with more than 2.5 million albums snapped up by adoring fans.
The strong three-day sales indicate the lack of streaming availability did not hurt the album, the first since her 2011 release 21, which won six Grammys and sold more than 30 million copies worldwide.
When Adele released her new album, “25,” on Friday, it was sure to be an instant hit.
It is no coincidence that these record breaking figures come after Adele blocked her new album from appearing on Spotify and Apple Music.
The release of the album has rekindled debate in the music industry over the role of streaming services like Spotify, Apple Music and Tidal.
A spokesperson for the streaming service added: “We love and respect Adele, as do her 24 million fans on Spotify”.
25’s total sales so far this week stand at a massive 538,000, putting it in good stead to become the UK’s fastest-selling album ever.
As Adele returned in the music scene and so her distinctive look will once again surface in every sites and screens.
On Thursday Why Adele’s New Album “25” Is Not Streaming Online was a top story.
“This feels like such a long time coming, my new album is finally out”, Adele tweeted. However, considering the fact that iTunes already reporting that the very first day alone racked up 900,000 of that million those numbers may easily be surpassed.
But how did a self-described “loud and bolshie” (British slang for unruly and clamorous) gal who reportedly never wanted to be famous dethrone Taylor Swift as the music industry’s savior?
Billboard is scheduled to report the album’s debut week sales on November 29, once Nielsen has finished processing its weekly data. Of course that is not the only note worthy thing the album does as it is on track to be the biggest selling album of 205 as well.
