The Features of the New iPad Pro: What has really changed?
Speaking to Independent.ie, Apple CEO Tim Cook was asked if traditional laptop and desktop computers were on its way out and whether the company is planning on combining it with iPads in the future. Cook wraps up his interview by noting that while he is expecting the iPad Pro to cause a few “cannibalization”, as long as the company is doing it to itself, it doesn’t really “spend any time worrying”. And putting those two together would not achieve either. “You’d begin to compromise in different ways”.
Optimized iPad Pro non-gaming apps emphasized – There are a few great apps featured in this section, with a few of the standout ones for us being Evernote, along with a selection of productivity apps, such as Microsoft’s Word, AutoCad 360 and OmniFocus 2.
Cook then described the product as “sort of deluded”, but Apple press representatives later clarified that he meant to say “diluted”.
But what about a device that could blend both iOS and OS X platforms in one unified operating system?
For example as you can see in the screenshot above, we are looking at apps that have also been created for use with the Apple Pencil, like Evernote, Paper, and several Adobe apps.
The ARS Technica report about the iPad Pro tablet featuring a USB 3.0-compliant Lightning port is based on a confirmation by Apple.
The Apple Pencil and the Smart Keyboard were both designed specifically for the iPad Pro and, according to MacWorld, the iPad Pro accessories are out of stock.
To be added that Apple has declared that with the release of the new iPad Pro, they are not intending to replace a laptop.
Cook also provided a non-comment about Apple’s rumored electric vehicle plans, emphasizing “a need for a focus on user interface”.
The iPad Pro is Apple’s answer to Microsoft’s latest Surface hybrid, the Surface Pro 4, which hit store shelves October 26. If you consider that, it almost has the same weight as the Surface Book of Microsoft if the screen is detached.
