Panthers’ Wes Horton, Stephen Hill suspended by NFL
Carolina Panthers defensive end Wes Horton was suspended Monday by the National Football League for four games after testing positive for a performance-enhancing drug.
However, the Panthers did receive a few bad news on Monday, as the National Football League announced that they were suspending two players on the Panthers’ roster. He was cut by the team after Week 3 and then brought back for Week 5. But Horton has only eight tackles and one sack this season, and was inactive for Sunday’s game against Washington.
Horton’s suspension is effective immediately, meaning he will not be available until December 21, the day after the Panthers’ game against the NY Giants during Week 15. He recorded seven tackles and a sack.
ESPN also reported that along with Horton’s suspension is a suspension to wide receiver Stephen Hill who was suspended for being stopped in a traffic incident and cited with possession of marijuana. His suspension also begins immediately.
Hill is on injured reserve after suffering a season-ending knee injury in training camp.
