Black Friday is nearly upon us, which also means Thanksgiving is almost here.
The Wednesday of Black Friday week has become the hottest online shopping day of the year for elite deal hunters and for good reason – it’s the day that most of the bigger retailers will put their Black Friday ad items online.
Black Friday sales have started, but where are the deals, asks USA TODAY’s Jefferson Graham.
Intuitively, that makes sense: The better the deal, the more likely people are likely to snap up toys, tablets and whatever else. I bought my first flat-screen TV – a Samsung – at a Black Friday sale at Walmart a few years ago. It’s considered to be the official start of the holiday shopping season, and tens of billions of dollars will be spent by consumers both in stores and online. This year, even more than last year, Black Friday is completely diluted with the huge deals dropping well before Black Friday. We’re planning bigger and better deals over a longer period to make this Black Friday our best ever.
There are some stores all across the nation that refuse to be open on the eve of Black Friday.
“Shoppers’ in-store plans for Cyber Monday shows the lines between the online and in-store retail experiences are continuing to blur”, spokesman Jesse Tron said in a statement.
Last year, total holiday sales from the Amazon Mobile Shopping App doubled in the US and Black Friday had the most rapid growth in mobile shopping.
“Too early”: Mike Wolfe, 57, of York Haven, said he and his family will not be participating in Black Friday shopping due to other plans.

In a press statement released by Walmart, the retail mammoth has said that the holiday discounted rates for the its brick and mortar stores and online shop will begin in November stretch for eight weeks, making the Black Friday 2015 and Christmas holiday sales dates seem rolled into one. The discounts offered on Saturday should be close to those seen on Thanksgiving and Black Friday, so some people may want to act while stores are still likely to have inventory of the most popular items, Gaffney says.

Best Buy: The company will likely roll out their Black Friday deals in the wee hours Thanksgiving Day.
A rose to consumers who avoid the Thanksgiving Day bargain hunt. The e-commerce giant has already launched its Black Friday Deals Week promotion, meaning many Black Friday deals are available days before Black Friday.
