Tesla Model S has Trouble and Model X is Pricy
Based on the latest checks performed by the Global Equities Research analyst, who has given the Tesla stock a Buy rating with a 12-month target price of $385, the deliveries of the Tesla Model S are displaying good sequential growth. The company has started informing pre-order customers that they can no go to the Tesla website to customize their Model X to their hearts content. And along with that is information on how much that will all cost you.
All versions of the Model X will be equipped with four-wheel-drive with the entry-level vehicle starting at $80,000 before government incentives, according to a statement from the company.
Well, the 70D’s acceleration is still enough to put most hot-hatches to shame (0-60 mph / 0-96 km/h in six seconds flat), and the range difference over the 90D is considerable, but still well beyond what other manufacturers are offering on significantly smaller cars: 220 miles from 90D’s 257 miles.
The price tag on the Model X 70D is, of course, only the baseline.
Tesla calls its Model X as the fastest, safest, and most capable SUV in the history.
Tesla delivered a handful of Model X vehicles at the end of September in a highly-publicized event at its factory in Fremont, California.
Tesla Motors (NASDAQ:TSLA) insider Jeffrey B. Straubel sold 10,000 shares of the firm’s stock in a transaction that occurred on Monday, November 16th. This represents a 2.437% difference between analyst expectations and the Tesla Motors Incorporated achieved in its quarterly earnings.
Tesla Motors Inc (NASDAQ:TSLA), which has yet to get the first Model X Signature versions to those that ordered them, has finally revealed the release version of its EV SUV.
For reference, the top of the line Model X P90D has a slightly lower range of 250miles. All versions have the feature of Autopilot, which is Tesla’s self-driving technology, but this option further adds $2,500 to the price.
The optional “Ludicrous mode” performance option for the P90D shaves the 0 to 60 miles per hour time down to 3.2 seconds for the Model X, and 2.8 seconds for the Model S. The optional sixth seat will require an extra $3,000, while a seven-seat configuration comes at a cost of $4,000. That means an equivalently specced Model S is always going to be several thousand dollars cheaper than the Model X. Musk and Tesla are betting that the SUV is cool enough to justify the premium.
