First Photos for the January Event

On Monday, People magazine debuted the first photos of Julianne Hough as Sandy, Aaron Tveit as Danny and Vanessa Hudgens as Rizzo in the upcoming “Grease Live”.

Stage and small screen star Aaron Tveit is suited up as Sandy’s T-Bird bad boy, Danny.

“Grease: Live” airs on Fox January 31.

Hough’s perfectly preppy as Sandy at the beginning of the film, before her dancing and hormone fueled transformation into a greaser chick. Seeing her (and the rest of the Grease: Live! cast) vulnerable in the production’s costumes would be similar to seeing a parent having sex, or a high school crush with mayonnaise on his face: a grotesque taboo, a auto crash at which I was compelled to rubberneck.

“I’m excited about both looks”, the Dancing with the Stars judge, 27, says in the latest issue of PEOPLE of getting to transform from innocent Rydell High newcomer to a sultry vixen during the live musical event.

Singer Carly Rae Jepsen will play Frenchy, one of the Pink Ladies.
