Danny Amendola injury: Knee sprain won’t keep Patriots receiver out for
Audible groans could be heard around Gillette Stadium on Monday when Patriots wide receiver Danny Amendola came up lame on a punt return during the third quarter.
Curran reports that Amendola’s knee sprain will limit him throughout the week. His availability for Sunday night’s showdown in Denver will depend on how he responds to treatment and how much his workload increases throughout the week. For now, owners shouldn’t plan on having Amendola for Sunday, but it sounds like one missed game might be the worst-case scenario.
Wide receiver Julian Edelman is out for the foreseeable future with a broken foot, and running back Dion Lewis is on injured reserve with a torn ACL.
Dobson’s injury left the Patriots with just four receivers, including Matthew Slater, who is primarily a special teams player.
Jeff Howe of the Boston Herald reports that X-rays of Dobson’s ankle were negative, but that the team was still waiting for MRI results to determine the extent of the injury.
