Journey, The Doobie Brothers, Dave Mason coming to the AMP in 2016
Journey and the Doobie Brothers are headed to Phoenix on the San Francisco Fest 2016 tour, playing Ak-Chin Pavilion on Saturday, May 14, with Dave Mason, who’s actually British. General admission tickets, $30, are available for purchase at IMS.com/carbday. Opening for both Journey and the Doobies will be Dave Mason, a Rock n’ Roll Hall of Famers and former member of Traffic.
Journey’s current lineup consists of lead guitarist Neal Schon, bassist Ross Valory, keyboardist Jonathan Cain and singer Arnel Pineda.
Journey played on the Bangor Waterfront for the first time in September 2012. The band last appeared in Syracuse during the 2014 NY State Fair with Cheap Trick.
Smith won’t be the only new band member onstage – the Doobie Brothers have recruited Little Feat keyboard player Bill Payne for the trek.
The tour opens May 12 in Irvine, Calif. The USANA Amphitheatre date on August 21 is the 45th show, as the tour nears its completion.
