Can The Green Bay Packers Get Back On Track In Minnesota?
Star quarterback Aaron Rodgers was limited in Wednesday’s Packers practice with a right shoulder injury.
“Their organization is one of the top organizations in sports”, Zimmer said, “and honestly we’re just trying to get in the mix with these guys”.
“Probably banged up”, Rodgers said when asked to describe his injury status before practice. “It’s Week 11 coming up, everybody is dealing with different things”.
McCarthy said he wasn’t concerned about Rodgers’ availability for Sunday. ESPN’s Jason Wilde reported that Rodgers’ injury is to his right shoulder – his throwing arm – and he also sustained a leg injury in Week 10. Not only will they be sure to step up to the occasion of stopping Rodgers when they’re on defense, but most important key will be giving Adrian Peterson a heavy workload and let him carry this team.
Protecting Rodgers is always a priority.
The second most surprising could be the Minnesota Vikings leading the NFC North over the Green Bay Packers. Oakland’s interior offensive lineman, Rodney Hudson (Pro Football Focus’ fifth-rated center), sat out this game with an injury, which should’ve led to the Vikings getting pressure at will. Instead, Carr was able to throw for over 300 yards, the most yards given up by the Vikings’ pass defense.
So, last week’s Detroit Lions and Green Bay Packers game did end up as one of the more fun games to watch of the week. We shall see. Bridgewater has protected the ball well and been prudent in his passing decisions.
“Tuesday, I had my normal routine”, he said in a subdued voice, “came in here, worked out, acupuncture, massage, film, relax, dinner, sleep, wake up, here I am”. Rodgers has been sacked 22 times this season, with half of those sacks in the last three games. The Vikings are a talented and confident group, and they should be extra motivated to push the Packers further towards the playoff bubble. “You can go down to the store and print them up”.
GREEN, GOLD, GROUNDED: The Packers pulled out a 24-21 victory at Minnesota last season, behind 125 yards rushing by Eddie Lacy, who had two touchdowns that afternoon. The highlight of the game was 37-year-old cornerback Terence Newman intercepting Derek Carr two times and almost adding a third midway through the game.
Newman just won his second NFC Defensive Player of the Week award.
“We haven’t been where we’d like”, McCarthy said. WR Ty Montgomery (ankle) was limited at practice a day after participating fully.
