Cyber Monday Shopping Starts On Thanksgiving Day
Although those online deals are stealing some of the thunder most stores still expect to draw thousands this weekend.
However, if you’re thinking about shopping in-store for Black Friday deals, it’s probably a good idea to know the store hours of the places that you’re wanting to shop at.
Dr. Robert Hooker, University of South Florida marketing professor, says it’s different now. After Black Friday was in the books, consumers would return to work on Monday and take advantage of the boss’s broadband Internet to order gifts online. If you’re not into the whole frenzy, there’s a chance you will still be able to find plenty of bargains through the remainder of the holiday season.
Almost 40 stores are bucking the trend of recent years and keeping their doors closed to shoppers this Thanksgiving. The big-box store’s ad features nine-pages of deals, including a modern black love seat for $99.
Saturday is often overlooked because it’s sandwiched between Black Friday and Cyber Monday, yet 49 percent of those surveyed say they will shop in stores and online on Saturday, up from the 42.9 percent in last year’s preliminary survey, while 23.1 percent say they will or may shop on Sunday. And on the Black Friday itself, if you spend $75, you’ll get a 20% off on your December 4-13 purchases.
Best Buy will offer deals online and in stores on Cyber Monday as well. First off, secret sales, all you have to do is ask according to our experts and second of all, Lara, there are literally millions of dollars in prizes that retailers like Macy’s and many others are planning on giving out to those people who do show up for the holiday sales rush.
It’s even possible that there are already people lined up at some stores like Best Buy and Walmart right now, especially since these stores will offer really good deals, including a 5o-inch HDTV for just $150. A National Retail Federation survey in October, meanwhile, found that 40% of shoppers started their holiday shopping before November, while a November 10 survey discovered that not only had 57% of consumers started their holiday shopping, but almost 14% were more than halfway finished. To get in on the cash that comes through from big deals during Cyber Monday, Walmart is running its online super day on Sunday with Cyber Week. It said earlier this month that it will offer the majority of its Black Friday deals on its website starting at 3:01 a.m. ET on Thanksgiving Day, then offer up a “week of savings” afterwards. Now, if you are intent on hitting the stores there is something in it for you.
