Danny Amendola: Week-to-week with knee sprain
NFL Media’s Rand Getlin also reported that Amendola’s sprained knee should be considered a week-to-week injury.
Audible groans could be heard around Gillette Stadium on Monday when Patriots wide receiver Danny Amendola came up lame on a punt return during the third quarter. He is expected to be limited at practice during a short week, though, and that means it will likely be a couple of days before his status for Sunday’s game in Denver becomes clearer.
That’s good news for a team that had already lost running back Dion Lewis and wide receiver Julian Edelman in back to back weeks. Now with Denver on the horizon, they will need as much offensive help as possible.
The Patriots were left with just two healthy wide receivers Monday night when Amendola and Dobson went down. More importantly, Curran reported that Amendola hasn’t even been ruled out for the Patriots’ game against the Broncos on Sunday.
Amendola had 9 catches for 117 yards prior to exiting the game, and appears to be Brady’s top target behind Rob Gronkowski.
