Cleveland Cavaliers Can’t do Anything to LeBron James
The Cavs fell too far behind in the double overtime game, needing a nice little rally in the fourth quarter to force the extra period, and LeBron James struggled with Jerryd Bayless guarding him in the second overtime, holding him scoreless in the final 3:15 of the game.
Guard Matthew Dellavedova set a career high with 13 assists. (He was just one fake away from a free fries.) “I just wanted to trust what I’ve been doing over the summer, trust what I do in practice and let it got”. “We have to share the ball offensively, get the ball popping, defend at a high level and not turn the ball over”.
Bucks: O.J. Mayo made his season debut after missing the first 11 games because of a strained right hamstring….
“You know, Bron is a lot of things – a lot of great things – but probably where you’re not going to see him is out there playing for the (Lake Erie) Monsters (an AHL team based in Cleveland) or the (New York) Rangers”.
The fact that the Cavs have the record they do while Kyrie Irving and Iman Shumpert have yet to play a game is impressive. The Cavs swept the Hawks in the Eastern Conference Finals.
Cavaliers’ next opponent: The Cavaliers embark on a two-game road trip beginning with the Toronto Raptors on Wednesday followed by the Charlotte Hornets on Friday.
But there are bad habits developing that they want to squash now rather than later. I understand his frustration but obviously he shouldn’t do that. It’s about playing the game the right way and your approach. Anything short of that, we’re wasting our time. You can’t blame the guy for wanting a break from time to time. “And this might be one of those times”. The Bucks were averaging 12.6 turnovers in victories compared with 17.3 turnovers in losses.
San Antonio made it six straight home wins by downing Memphis 92-82, with Kawhi Leonard and Tony Parker scoring 19 and 18 points respectively.
The Cavaliers’ bench also played big outscoring their Bucks counterparts, 39-12 led by Tristan Thompson’s 12 points with 11 rebounds. That’s the most important thing right now. It healed on its own and Smith said team doctors don’t know when it occurred or how long ago, but it still swells up occasionally when the hand gets hit.
