Five great apps for your iPad Pro
Following the success of the sales of the iPhone 6s and iPhone 6s Plus, the iPad Air 3 might also sport a Rose Gold limited edition version. Slick doesn’t quite cover it. It can also run full apps side by side on that large screen, particularly useful for document work.
Another great thing about the Jot Dash is that it works not only on your iPad Pro but also on other iOS devices and even Android devices. While the iPad Air 2 was powered by an A8X chip, the iPad Air 3 will reportedly be powered by an A9X chip. That’s the model I’d choose. It doesn’t make any sense that the iPhone can fit more apps on its home screen than the more than 2 times bigger iPad Pro can. It lacks splitscreen app capability, and I worry that the slower processor will be phased out of iOS updates a lot sooner. While it is a close contest between the iPad mini 4 with a True Contrast Ratio of 967 versus a score of 1064 for the iPad Air 2, the iPad Pro pulls way ahead of the two with a score of 1631. There’s an A7 processor, still good for basics.
According to sources, people are even stealing the Apple Pencil from demo stations in stores, but the company denied giving any statement on any reported thefts. It is thin, light and delivers all-day 10-hour battery life that users have come to expect from iPad.
Downsides: this is an older gadget. And you can only do that by diving head first and going all in. This shows in the new iPad 2015 range – the brightness score on the three iPads ranges from 415 nits on the iPad Air 2, 424 nits on the iPad Pro to 450 nits on the iPad mini 4. It’s 18% thinner than the previous iPad Mini and weighs just. The sketching app includes a variety of free digital writing utensils for drawing and note taking. The official Twitter app is an absolute joke, while Tweetbot is arguably the best and it’s not officially optimized for the larger display. Compared to the Air 2, the Mini 4 slows down a bit with high-powered games, but it’s so small and does so much… you just have to pay up a considerable bit.
For now, the iPad Pro to many is just a big tablet. It’s still a pain to position this big tablet in a way that makes extended viewing comfortable (unless you buy a nifty stand), but the view and the sound has never been better. Storage size I’d aim for, if the price was right: 64GB.
But after more than a week with the iPad Pro, I’ve learned that it’s pretty simple.
Otherwise the iPad Pro certainly has enough computing power to juggle applications.
I’d only recommend buying the iPad Pro if you’re really dying for that larger screen or you’re a graphic artist or designer. There aren’t that many right now.
That’s not to say that the iPad Pro is a crummy device. It’s the only iPad that supports the $99 Apple Pencil, and while there are other pressure-sensitive iPad styluses on the market, this is the one that’s made by Apple-and that means it will probably be the best in its class, if for no other reason that it will be deeply integrated into the iPad Pro’s software.
Note that the original 2013 iPad Air is still on sale at a list price that’s lower than its successor, the iPad Air 2.
