Kia Shows off the New-Look Cadenza
Kia today pulled the wraps off its redesigned Cadenza, a full-size sedan that slots in above the Optima family sedan in the brand’s North American lineup. The 2016 Kia K7 / Cadenza is expected to reach worldwide dealerships beginning next year, with pricing and technical details to be released closer to the introduction. The images confirm the second-generation Cadenza looks much sharper than the current model.
The standout feature is the new “tiger-nose” grille (we prefer “shark mouth”) matched with slender, diamond-shaped LED headlamps and a new bumper design.
Do you think that the Kia Cadenza 2017 model lives up to its billing of being “inspired by European luxury sedan styling”? In Canada, the Cadenza competes for buyers with cars like the Chevrolet Impala, Toyota Avalon, and Ford Taurus.
Kia promises a more premium look and feel in the cabin, although interior shots are still to be revealed. He also goes on to say the headlights are too small, and the fronts needs to look moe aggressive.
That “more assertive appearance”, as Kia calls it, also is seen in the vehicle’s rear, with sleeker, thinner taillights and a more angular bumper that’s a significant departure from the rounder bumper of the 2016 model. The total represents a 28 percent decline from sales of the same time frame in 2014.
The “3.3” emblem on the trunk lid indicates the Cadenza is powered by 3.3-liter V6 engine tuned to make at least 293 horsepower and 255 lb-ft. of torque. Previous editions have been front-wheel drive.
