Barcelona smash Roma in the Champions League

“Flattery weakens. We are in a phase of flattery but the team is intelligent enough and the players know that playing football and achieving objectives is hard”, he told reporters. A win in their final match against Bate will see them through regardless of Bayer’s result against Barcelona due to Roma’s superior head to head record with the German side. “We defended for 90 minutes against a side who still had the freedom to play however they wanted, sending the ball in at will over our defence’s backs”.
Aside from the guys that scored, Enrique also heaped praises for Sergio Roberto who he calls the “wild card” of the team.
Messi had been out injured since the end of September but Barca have coped well without their talisman with strike partners Neymar and Luis Suarez in blistering form.
A draw at Nou Camp would take the reigning champions to knockout stage.
“For us it won’t change much in terms of the table if we draw or lose”. Substitute Adriano bagged a rare goal after Roma’s keeper saved Neymar’s spot kick.
Barcelona underlined their status as one of the favourites to win the competition with another convincing performance, just days after beating La Liga rivals Real Madrid 4-0 in the Bernabeu.
Messi had eight shots; six on target.
Barcelona showed no signs of easing up as the second half began and they extended their lead further when Gerard Pique turned in a low cross from Messi.
We’ve just played two great teams, both easily in the top 15 in Europe – and we’ve scored ten goals. TEN.
“It’s obviously better to play a Barca without him. Even if Edin Dzeko had taken that chance in the first half, we still would have lost”.
“I was also able to enjoy watching them from the stands”, he admitted.
Goals from Uruguay striker Suarez and Brazil forward Neymar kept Barca ticking over while Messi was sidelined and the four-times World Player of the Year said they and the rest of the squad had proved they did not rely too heavily on his talents.
