Celtic skipper Scott Brown out for up to three months
Manager Ronny Deila revealed on Wednesday that skipper Scott Brown could be out for between eight and 12 weeks with a knee injury picked up against Kilmarnock at the weekend.
Celtic will also be without Kris Commons through injury along with Stefan Johansen and Nir Bitton through suspension.
The Norwegian said: “I don’t know the details about it, I heard about it, but it is a positive thing to my mind”.
“I don’t fear anything but, of course, there are going to be big changes in the midfield”.
“He was unfortunate in a challenge at the end of the game”.
“They are important players for us so any team that loses key players could possibly feel it”, Rogic said.
“We haven’t talked about tactics just yet but whatever decision the manager makes I’m happy to play either an attacking or defensive role”.
“They’ll be coming here to attack us but we’ve got players going the other way that can hurt them”.
If Celtic do beat Ajax, they will be required to pick up a victory against Fenerbahce in their final group stage match to have a chance of qualifying for the knockout stages.
Deila’s men stand on the brink of exiting the Europa League as they need to win their last two games, against Ajax and Fenerbahce respectively, to reach the last 32.
“He added: “It’s a big opportunity”. I want to see energy, players that want to show their best and want the ball and fight as a team and then I know that we have qualities that can win the game for us.
With Celtic gearing up to face Ajax in the Europa League on Thursday night, the nerves are sure to be kicking in for the striker again, but he will hope that they do not affect his performance in a negative way.
“But no matter who plays they are going to have to put in a performance”.
