Chelsea legend Didier Drogba believes ARSENAL will win the Premier League this
I think they can do it but I’ve been here before time and time again, [for example] Monaco last season.
Drogba, 37, had two separate stints at Stamford Bridge and found great success each time.
“It’s a different situation for club, manager and players”, Drogba continued.
But despite their current problems, the Ivory Coast worldwide remains confident they can turn their season around, with back-to-back victories over Norwich in the league and Maccabi Tel Aviv in the Champions League helping to boost confidence.
“I don’t like to compare things to when I was there but there are some facts that you can’t hide”, Drogba was quoted as saying by The Sun at the launch of his new book, Commitment.
“Chelsea will remain a big club”.
Drogba, who has just ended his first season in Major League Soccer with the Montreal Impact, is justifiably proud of the feats he accomplished during nine years at Chelsea.
The one that we really want to win though is the Premier League and it looks like we have a much better chance there.
“But I know that the players and the manager have the ability to change this”.
Drogba, who played with the Czech global for nine years at Stamford Bridge, believes that while Manchester City will be strong, he’s backing Arsenal because of his “friend”. “I have agreed that with the club directors”, Drogba told BBC Africa.
“If the club has kept him that means owner Roman Abramovich thinks that he is the right man”, he said.
Drogba rocked back in his chair and let out a loud roar of laughter when reminded of his altercations with Ballack. But it’s the desire to win, the competition, the desire to help the team win, that creates these kind of moments.
