No intention of leaving country, proud to be Indian: Aamir
“Leave whatever glory this country has given you, here only”, the BJP ally said in an editorial in party mouthpiece “Saamana”.
The actor yesterday said in the statement that “anyone implying the opposite has either not seen my interview or is deliberately trying to distort what I have said”.
Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal on Wednesday continued his support for Bollywood star Aamir Khan whose remarks on “growing despondency” triggered a controversy, saying he was proud of him.
“When I go home and talk to Kiran (Aamir s wife), for the first time she says, Should we move out of India?”. “She fears for our child”. She fears what the atmosphere around us will be.
Speaking at the occasion in Panaji at the 46th global Film Festival of India, AR Rahman said that he agrees with Aamir Khan on growing intolerance in the country as he even faced a similar situation when a Muslim group issued a fatwa against him. That was not expected from you Mr. Khan, not expected from the man who hosts the famous show “Satyamev Jayate”.
Recently, Bollywood Megastar Aamir Khan joined the uproar against intolerance.
This comes after the 50-year-old had said: “I feel there is a sense of insecurity, there is a sense of fear…”
“(I) guess all those who did not want PM Modi to become PM want to bring this government down.
Ironically, Khan’s statement has not found much tolerance among some.
Notable Indian celebrities such as Anupam Kher, Raveena Tandon, Rishi Kapoor and Ram Gopal Varma have slammed Aamir Khan in the media for his comments and for calling India intolerant.
In his statement today, a defiant Aamir showed no signs of relenting in the face of fierce criticism.
The singer-composer also said the intolerance debate in India is becoming chaotic.
Hope everything settles down with this statement and the actor is now busy on “Dangal”, biopic on Indian wrestler “Mahavir Singh Phogat” in his own production and directed by Nitesh Tiwari.
