Evidence Supporting Trump’s Claim Of Jersey City Muslims Cheering On 9/11 Is
Then there’s the matter of Trump’s claims, first made last week, that when the World Trade Center came down on September 11 he saw “thousands and thousands” of people cheering in Jersey City – Muslims.
“I watched people jumping off the buildings”, Trump said.
Trump has been widely countered by politicians from NY and New Jersey. And by “greatest hits”, New Day for American means all of the very bad things Trump said a while back that have been overshadowed by some of the more recent questionable things that have tumbled forth from his adverb-loving face hole. Obama said he believed the practice, which simulates drowning, constituted torture and was an illegal form of interrogation. In that survey, Trump led with 30%, followed by Cruz with 21% and Carson with 19%. “It did happen”, he said.
But still, Trump leads in economy, immigration, and terrorism.
In reality, one of the reporters said none of his sources recalled hundreds or thousands of people at such celebrations, and he was eventually unable to verify claims of any celebrations that he reported.
After his incendiary and provably false remarks in the wake of the Paris attack, Trump’s numbers among Republicans actually went up, regaining an edge lost to Carson earlier in the fall. If your generals come to you with a plan to bomb terrorist training camps, you may well agree to that; if one of them adds “in New Jersey” to the equation one would hope that a President Ben Carson would at least look up from his lunch. Trump’s support is based on a political outsider defying the deceit of the political establishment, yet Trump does not seem to see the deceit he projects when he seems to seems to say whatever he wants to say without respect for the truth.
STEVE FULOP: I think it’s shameful that he’s politicizing 9/11. So from our standpoint, you’ve really got to question where he’s coming from.
Real-estate tycoon Donald Trump offered some more national-security tough talk during a Monday-night campaign speech in Ohio.
The author of the newspaper article that Trump has cited for that claim said on Monday that he does not remember any evidence of those celebrations.
RICK JOHNSON: Oh, I heard about that too when it happened.
“We were forced to rely on runners for intelligence about what was happening across the river and in New Jersey”, Farmer said.
