Guardians of the Galaxy 2 director debunks Daddy Star-Lord rumor
The answer to this question will reportedly be at the center of Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2, and fans are dying to find out. But according to director James Gunn, it’s “completely false” – and also kind of lame that people are trying to spoil the movie in the first place. Recently Heroic Hollywood reported on a rumor of the identity of the dad. “I don’t know how people come up with this stuff, but it certainly isn’t through legitimate sources”. So, were inclined to take him at his word, but well definitely have to wait and see how this pans out, and we still want to know.
I get the desire to get “scoops” on character inclusion and casting choices, etc. But since when is a plot spoiler a “scoop”?
“Guardians of the Galaxy 2” follows the continuing adventures of Star-Lord, Gamora (Zoe Saldana), Drax the Destroyer (Dave Bautista), Rocket Raccoon (Bradley Cooper), and Groot (Vin Diesel). Case in point, when many thought that the Hulk would be in Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2, Gunn shot that rumor down. “And spoiling plot details doesn’t add to the enjoyment of the film-going experience”. He stated that this would be the last time he would comment on any rumors regarding the sequel to “Guardians of the Galaxy”.
The director signed off stating he would no longer respond to rumors because someone might actually stumble on something that is true, but also noted, “we’re creating a film that doesn’t rely on plot twists to be an enjoyable experience”. Principal photography on the sequel is set to commence in February 2016 at Pinewood Atlanta Studios for May 5, 2017 release.
But is become more clear that the spoiler culture is far more concerned with rumors, speculation, and spoilers than the movie itself. Whether or not to partake in spoilers, when they exist, comes down to a personal decision on the part of the reader or fan. But today’s rumor is absolutely false, so no need to worry about who Quill’s father is.
