Carly Rae Jepsen Drops ‘Run Away With Me’ Video – Watch Here!
“Run Away With Me” is Carly’s newest single off her upcoming album Emotion, which is set for an August release.
Carly Rae Jepsen’s “Run Away With Me” isn’t going to be this year’s song of the summer, but it’s reasonably enjoyable and fairly catchy (if, like me, you have listened to it several times in a row). In Japan, the new album (E.MO.TION) has already been released and has been hugely successful, and critics are comparing it to Teenage Dream.
The video and the song are pretty unbelievable, but we’re still holding our breaths for Carly’s idol Cyndi Lauper to make a cameo in one of her videos.
“Run Away With Me” maintains the sort of glitzy, ’80s-inspired production that Jepsen first explored on “I Really Like You”. It became a part of our daily adventure on the road to film as we went.
The adorable video for the song follows her from city to city as she climbs the Eiffel Tower, blows bubbles in Washington Square Park and twirls around the streets of Tokyo. She also collaborated with Sia, Ariel Rechtshaid, Vampire Weekend’s Rostam Batmanglij and Greg Kurstin. That said, she hardly acts like an over-it popstar.
