Baylor-TCU just an appetizer for Big 12’s Bedlam

If the Sooners smash Oklahoma State into the ground, there is a good chance we can maybe slide in there.

If that’s gonna happen, the Pokes’ offensive linemen are going to have to play their best game of the season.

He’s taken the Sooners by the neck and led them back in some important games this season, including a big comeback win at Tennessee early on that really took OU to the next level. I’ll still take @Baylor, TCU, @Tennessee, West Virginia, @Texas Tech, and…@Oklahoma State (if they win) against anyone else’s slate below them.

In other words, Bedlam will determine the conference champion, one way or the other, and that’s all we could’ve asked for way back when. The Bears endured 14 consecutive losing seasons from 1996 to 2009.

Kansas State (4-6) needs to win its last two games to be assured of a bowl berth.

All three programs are now contenders on the national scene.

Olson: I’m siding with Brandon on this one because I fear Baylor and TCU are just a little too beat up to give us the game that lives up to the impossibly high expectations that have built up over the past 12 months. The Sooners certainly have a case that doesn’t strictly hinge on their wins over the Bears and Horned Frogs.

Oklahoma State, however, suffered its first defeat of the season after riding a 10-game winning streak and fell to then-No. With one game remaining, the Sooners are in great shape. Bedlam was a one-way street of Sooner beatdowns. For Oklahoma, a win means a Big 12 title.

Three of the Big 12’s ranked teams are in the top 25 in tackles for loss – 7.

He’s now 1,245 yards behind all-time OU rushing leader Billy Sims. He has been dynamic this season, passing for 3,591 yards with 21 touchdowns and eight interceptions. Regardless of the reason they wound up on the front row, the Baylor team photo has right guard Jarell Broxton (No. 61) and left tackle Spencer Drango (No. 58) prominently displayed, within an arm’s length of coach Art Briles. OU offensive coordinator Lincoln Riley has been dialing up a lot of plays for star receiver Sterling Shepard as of late, and the senior has been producing with big numbers. There’s no avoiding the best teams in the conference.

The conference released its 2016 conference schedule Tuesday and it is different from this season, when No. 5 Oklahoma, No. 7 Baylor, No. 9 Oklahoma State and No. 15 TCU played all of their head-to-head matchups in November. Unless there are other dominos that fall, such as a two-loss champ in other conferences, it’s likely that Oklahoma is the only conference heavyweight to get one of the four playoff bids. The days of only Oklahoma and Texas reigning supreme are gone.
