Five Premier League players make UEFA Team of the Year shortlist
UEFA has released the full slate of names that have been nominated for the UEFA Team of the year.
However, European champions Barcelona dominated the list with eight players including Luis Suarez, Neymar, Dani Alves and Javier Mascherano, Gerard Pique, Ivan Rakitic featuring in the shortlist.
Fans can vote for the team of the year on Uefa’s website until 5 January.
It’ll be a 4-3-3 formation, so popular amongst today’s managers, and players will appear in multiple positions in the polls – so make sure you don’t pick the same player twice in the below polls!
Joe Hart represents Manchester City along with team-mate Kevin De Bruyne and Sergio Aguero while Chelsea’s Eden Hazard and Arsenal’s Alexis Sanchez make up the fivesome.
There are three representatives from last season’s Europa League final, with Dnipro Dnipropetrovsk keeper Denys Boyko and Sevilla midfielder Grzegorz Krychowiak joined by Yevhen Konoplyanka, who moved from the former to the latter in the summer.
Chelsea’s Eden Hazard is on the list after being named the Premier League Player of the Year last season, as is Arsenal’s Alexis Sanchez.
