JetBlue Allows Amazon Prime Members To Use Free Wi-Fi For Streaming
JetBlue and Amazon announced that unlimited streaming entertainment on Amazon Video is available beginning this week on over 150 JetBlue aircraft equipped with free Fly-Fi broadband internet.
Amazon says it worked with JetBlue to integrate its music and video storefronts into the Fly-Fi Hub. Prior to this policy change passengers had to pay $9 per hour to use JetBlue’s Wi-Fi.
You may be able to watch free movies in the sky if you are traveling this Thanksgiving, as long as you are an Amazon Prime member flying on JetBlue Airways Corp.
Amazon is reportedly preparing some great treats for its Prime Video subscribers, just in time for the holidays.
Despite this integrated approach, customers will still be well aware that they are using separate services to access their content. Amazon is reportedly creating dedicated landing pages for its partners within Prime.
The partnership with JetBlue is the latest in a string of upgrades Amazon’s made to its video streaming service. JetBlue notes that users are free to any device they prefer, including laptops, iOS or Android smartphones and tablets, as well as Amazon’s own Fire products.
Amazon on JetBlue is now available on the company’s Airbus A320 and A321 aircraft, and coming soon to the fleet of Embraer 190s.
Amazon Prime Video is Amazon’s response to Netflix, offering a range of films, TV shows, and original programming for Prime customers to stream. The majority of market analysts asserts that in terms of viewers, Amazon’s media-streaming service is the second most commonly used Internet TV service, with Netflix holding the first spot. The partnership encompasses a wide variety of benefits for customers, including activities in JetBlue’s Terminal 5 at JFK International Airport in NY.
