Infiniti Q60 coupe spied without disguise
With the 2017 Infiniti Q60, the answer might be yes.
The 2016 small premium coupe race is on.
Infiniti has been caught off guard by some spy photographers as the 2017 Infiniti Q60 coupe has been shot without any disguise on near Las Vegas. The front end features Infiniti’s signature grille and slimline headlight design, complete with plenty of chrome trim and diffuse LEDs to communicate the car’s luxury and style.
Nissan’s premium division showed us a preview of the sleek two-door with the Q60 concept at the 2015 Detroit Motor Show.
As previously reported, Infiniti’s new “sex machine” is likely to benefit from a number of high-output engines, and potentially the premiere of an all-new engine range mid-year, expected to comprise turbo six-cylinder units.
Although the production auto is slightly toned-down from the concept vehicle, the overall shape remains the same. Though the Infiniti Q30 and QX30 have already been launched, it is certainly time for their new brethren Q60 to take over the market.
No powertrain details have been given out yet, but look closely at the side of these images and you’ll spot “3.0t” badging, suggesting the launch engine will be the new twin-turbocharged 3.0-litre V6 from the concept.
Such an engine powered the concept, claiming around 336kW of power.
That would make it more than a match for the Lexus RC F power monger.
As these revealing photos show, the production Q60 has retained the bulk of its concept progenitor’s styling and proportions, including the flowing roofline, deeply sculpted profile and wide, muscular stance.
