Strictly Come Dancing fix!? Jamelia says Peter Andre’s standing ovation was FAKE
The blonde beauty – who also has son Harvey, 13, from a previous relationship and two-year-old son Jett and 15-month-old daughter Bunny with Kieran – also hinted that she wouldn’t mind appearing on the show herself in the future.
“I always thought he could win because he’s a good dancer”.
Instead, she says BBC producers got the audience to stand and clap – and used that footage instead.
“But when they re-recorded Pete’s “standing ovation” was when I realised it was us that would be going home”.
Jamelia said: “The honest thing is, he didn’t [get a standing ovation]”.
“Following Peter’s performance in the dance-off, for which he got a standing ovation, continuity shots were taken during a break in filing”, they said.
Before Saturday’s Blackpool show, Ola Jordan announced she was quitting the long-running BBC flagship show, just days after claiming judges “over-marked and under-marked”. Sometimes I say to people, if they make a mistake you can give them a chance and I’m glad I did, ‘ the star explained.
She also tweeted, amidst rumours she is being “a sore loser”: “I have absolutely nothing against Pete whatsoever…& I am not a liar”.
According to The Mirror, members of the audience claimed the reception to Andre’s dance was lacklustre, while Jamelia got a spontaneous ovation.
But he succeeded on Sunday night’s results show, and received a standing ovation for his efforts and survived to dance another week.
Strictly bosses had already come under fire for giving Andre prominent slots.
But Peter isn’t bitter about Jamelia’s comments.
BBC Proms presenter Katie Derham and Anton Du Beke will dance the Argentine Tango to Ástor Piazzolla’s Libertango.
Jamelia has spoken out after her “Strictly Come Dancing” exit.
‘These extra opportunities to capture audience reaction are standard practice in recording TV shows of this nature’.
Jamelia reacted on Twitter by saying: “How hilarious, love it!”
