Clarence Seedorf could be on his way to the Premier League
The 6ft 1in striker, who can also operate as an attacking midfielder, has struggled to impose himself since the arrival of new manager Steve McClaren and is yet to be afforded a sustained opportunity to prove his worth this season despite Newcastle’s struggles.
Newcastle United have identified Clarence Seedorf as the man they want to replace Steve McClaren, according to reports in Italy.
The 29-year-old has the experience that Bournemouth boss Eddie Howe is looking for as they look to beat the drop and the player may well be interested in a move to the south coast.
“Newcastle could do that but this is one of those predictions where I would like to tell you what the score will be, after seeing the first 10 minutes”.
I’m just waiting and hope it comes quickly but it is up to the manager. Their attitude stunk, their defending was poor and Leicester basically strolled to victory.
The club invested heavily in the summer, spending over £50 million in total on the likes of Georginio Wijnaldum, Aleksandar Mitrović and Florian Thauvin, but after losing 3-0 at home to Leicester on Saturday in a dismal display have won only 15 of their last 62 Premier League games.
“If that’s upset one or two of the team, I don’t care, because it didn’t look like they cared at the weekend”.
If Coloccini does not rise to the challenge over the coming weeks, Telegraph Sport understands McClaren will consider alternative candidates to wear the captain’s armband.
Quinn added: “There’s plenty of ability in the squad, but there are a few players I think Newcastle need to get rid of because they’ve been there a long time and I don’t think they’re motivated”.
“As captain he has the responsibility to drive the team on, but he doesn’t do that”.
