His outreach to the Indian diaspora also signalled the increasing power of the British-Indian community in United Kingdom politics.
In London, the Indian prime minister addressed 60,000 people at the Wembley Stadium. On the ambitious Base Erosion and Profit Shifting (BEPS) project, especially with regard to exchange of information on cross border tax rulings, it said “we strongly urge the timely implementation of the project and encourage all countries and jurisdictions, including developing ones, to participate”.
Giving a pep talk to the young officers, Modi said they can bring about a “big change” through hard work and sincerity as he noted that they would be working in one-fifth of the country’s districts over the next 10 years.
“Singapore’s success is indeed noteworthy. My visit to Singapore will focus on these key areas of India-Singapore cooperation”, he said.
He said India is promoting growth and investing in skills to create employment for the youth. He will also pay homage at the INA Memorial Marker at Esplanade Park. The official said that the US President hailed India ” s economic growth under Modi ” s leadership.
