Officer suspended during probe of incident at Ole Miss game

“I have been informed by the University of Mississippi Police Department that they are investigating an incident said to have involved a New Albany police officer at the football game on Saturday”.

“My husband, a two time Veteran of the US Army National Guard, was wrongfully assaulted on campus during the Ole Miss vs LSU game by a POLICE OFFICER”.

-Mike Hilton continues to do a little bit of everything for Ole Miss’ defense. “Last year, this year, everything boils down to this”. Mississippi State lost to Alabama a few weeks ago, and that’s been it for a long, long time.

In a pure shoot out, the Rebels have the advantage. This might not have been a No. 1 type of team like last year’s squad, but in many ways, this year’s version is stronger and more unsafe. But I’m taking Ole Miss because I think its defensive line overpowers State’s offensive line and the Rebels’ defense will shut down the run.

Prescott is 1-1 against Ole Miss in two career starts.

Couple that with the dual-threat capabilities of quarterback Chad Kelly, and Ole Miss is tough to defend. He accounted for four touchdowns against LSU to break Eli Manning’s school record for the most touchdowns in a single season (34), and his 361 yards of total offense broke Bo Wallace’s record for total offense in one season.

Ironically, LSU’s one consistently good special teams unit faltered last Saturday. Teams like Auburn, Georgia and Texas A&M have been marred by underwhelming quarterback performances. It’s not non-existent, but it’s not enough to slow down Dak Prescott is he gets into a groove. Kelly added 2 touchdowns on the ground and led the Rebels with 81 rushing yards. Ole Miss hasn’t won in Starkville since 2003, which was Eli Manning’s senior season. Playing with a heavy heart, Prescott went down with a shoulder injury. He’s a peerless leader and has been a terrific face of the program to go along with all the success. He’s thrown for 3,159 yards, 23 touchdowns and just three interceptions this season and also run for a team-high 478 yards and nine touchdowns.

The only quarterback who’s been more prolific in the SEC than Prescott is Kelly, whose 3,504 passing yards and 25 touchdown tosses are tops in the league.

The video, which appeared to be shot from several seats away, showed an officer punching a man who was standing in the bleachers near other Ole Miss fans.
