The Eagles Get Basted In Detroit 45-14

Running back DeMarco Murray, shown on TV having a sideline disagreement with quarterback Mark Sanchez during the chaos that ruled the day, claimed there’s no dissent. The Eagles will go back to Philadelphia with no positive takeaway on offense or defense.
The Eagles had a chance to get the first points on the board in their opening drive, as Caleb Sturgis lined up a 50-yard field goal, but the kicker’s effort struck the right post.
The Lions’ offense was firing on all cylinders, with Theo Riddick hauling in three catches for 42 yards in the first half alone.
“Probably as complete a victory as we’ve had around here”, Lions coach Jim Caldwell said.
And Ansah had 3.5 sacks and forced and recovered a fumble to tie J.J. Watt for the National Football League lead in sacks.
“Obviously, in the red zone, he’s going to get the ball”, Jenkins said.
NOTES: Philadelphia’s perennial All-Pro LT Jason Peters left the game in the opening quarter with a left ankle injury…. Philadelphia tight end Trey Burton had nice 43-yard catch and run.
