Man accused of stabbing his parents in Gretna arrested in Mississippi
A man accused of stabbing his father to death after a dispute over food was arrested early Thursday (Nov. 26) in MS, according to our news partners at WVUE Fox 8.
Fortunato Percival Pritchett, 58, and his wife, Renitta Pritchett, 57, were stabbed Wednesday at their home in unincorporated Gretna.
Ronald Pritchett, 32, was taken into custody at a home off Chandler Road in Purvis, Miss.
Renta Pritchett suffered multiple stab wounds to the head and was found by authorities near a staircase on the residence’s first floor.
The Lamar County Sheriff’s office says deputies caught 32-year-old Ronald Pritchett outside of Hattiesburg, Mississippi around three o’ clock on Thanksgiving morning.
Witnesses describe a woman, who is believed to have been Mrs Pritchett, running out the house covered in blood with what appeared to be a stab wound in her side.
The SRT team arrested Pritchett with the use of a K9.
Renta Pritchett was transported to University Hospital.
He was treated for minor injuries from the police dogs and is now being held at the Lamar County Jail. He will then be extradited back to Louisiana where he will face the charges of second-degree murder, attempted second-degree murder, and auto theft. He was functional, but without his meds he wasn’t functional, ‘ Alexander said.
