Win over Rodgers, Packers could be turning point for Bears

In front of 78,000-plus fans and a gathering of some of his most prominent teammates, Favre was honored with a halftime ceremony. It was that way when Favre took the field, with his family on hand.

“(This) was more than likely his last time to be here”, Favre said. “I’ve got nothing but praise for him at this point”. Thanks to previous experience and their star QB, the Packers are still fourth overall on the future odds list for potential Super Bowl champions with odds of 8 to 1 to win it all.

Favre had been called a gunslinger and riverboat gambler during his career for making throws off his back foot, or across his body to a receiver in tight coverage. Starr himself was also at Lambeau Field. The Packers defense rebounded against the run with a solid game on Adrian Peterson, limiting him to less than 50 yards and the team will try and do the same against the Bears.

Packers defensive coordinator Dom Capers, who always has seemed to come up with wrinkles that confound Cutler and the Bears, had a variety of pressures that had defensive backs running free at Cutler.

On March 6, 2008, in his retirement press conference, Favre offered a moving farewell (though it wouldn’t be his final league farewell).

On Sept. 13, 1992, on his first play with the Packers, Favre threw a pass that was deflected by a defender.

“I’ll remember forever”, Rodriguez said.
