Microsoft Surface Pro 4 and Surface Book now on sale in Australia
The reason Apple has introduced the pencil, is that unlike the iPhone, the iPad Pro is designed as a professional productivity tool rather than a consumer device. Sales of the 12.9-inch tablet kicked off online this week, with most models expected to ship in one business day, but if you want the Apple Pencil too you’ll have to wait 3-4 weeks. So although there is some what disagreement about the iPad Pro, it is one of the best new innovations on the market today. Though the keyboards are different, Apple has clearly emulated Microsoft’s basic idea here, down to the inclusion of a special keyboard connector on the edge of the device.
Apple’s CEO Tim Cook has recently said in an interview with Independent that the Cupertino-based firm isn’t interested in building a device that would involve combining a MacBook and an iPad. The tech giant released the iPad Pro last week, and Tim Cook said that the tablet was a good replacement for PCs altogether. Customers can order the devices through AT&T’s Website or in its stores with shipments expected to begin on November 16. Both of these pair a tablet with a stylus, and the iPad Pro has this in the form of the Pencil.
Now, about two years later, Cook reiterated his thoughts regarding this product category when sharing his thoughts on Microsoft’s Surface Book.
For your viewing pleasure, we’ve also included the 9.7-inch iPad Air 2 and the 7.9-inch iPad mini 4 for comparison. There are three signature iPad Pro colors to choose from: Space Gray, Silver, and Gold.
Sure, these updates all sound awesome, but the other thing that’s changing is the starting price: The iPad Pro will set you back at least $800. Microsoft also has seen its Surface revenue fall, but its new Surfaces have received a decent review or two.
