And in the early hours, clashes in the village of Qatanna, northwest of Jerusalem, resulted in the death of Yahya Taha, 21, who the Palestinian health ministry said was shot in the head.

Ibrahim Abdul Haleem Dawood, 16, was shot in the heart during clashes with Israeli forces in Ramallah, the statement added, adding that several operations to try to save him had failed.
Israel has already adopted the controversial policy of demolishing the homes of attackers, which it says acts as a deterrent. It said locals threw petrol bombs and rocks at the troops, who fired at one of them.
Meanwhile, Israel’s defence minister told parliament that a new “massive barrier” will be built to prevent Palestinians from the southern West Bank from infiltrating into Israel.
Abbas accused the Israeli government of derailing all opportunities over the last 22 years to achieve peace with the Palestinians. Children as young as 11 have stabbed Israelis in the current unrest. Palestinians also accuse Israel of using excessive force in suppressing violence.
